Why not join the Asians and get wet on a Phuket beach some time soon.

Off to Phuket this weekend. Saturday is the King's birthday and so we get a public holiday to allow Thais to celebrate the occasion.  There is also a public holiday on Thursday 10th December to celebrate the Constitution.

December is a great month in Thailand as we get these two days, plus Christmas Day (yep, even in a Buddhist country) and then 31st December - followed by New Years Day in 2010.  Truly wonderful for those who work as hard as me :o)

Anyway, back to the purpose of this blog entry.  You can get great prices on flights from Bangkok to Phuket with One Two Go airways.  A budget carrier that seems to ignore the whole issue of yields and offers a flat fare per flight for everyone. At the moment, the price is THB1,250.  Ridiculously cheap!

Once you get to Phuket you need a hotel.  Best to check out the online sites like Agoda for good deals.  But this is 'High Season" so prices are creeping up again.  However, still a lot less than you pay in places like Singapore, Hong Kong, London or Boston.

Tropical sun, sand, Bacardi rum and lots and lots of happy, smiling, beautiful people.  WHat's not to like about Phuket?  See you later :oP
